Cervix in pregnancy?? Please do help me?
Hi guys I was wondering if anyone had some good advice? Im about 13 weeks pregnant and am worried about having an incompetent cervix. I have been checking my cervix since I found out I was pregnant since I had a D and C a year ago. My cervix feels slightly open, I am able to put the tip of my finger in but then its feels shut! I went to my doctors with my concerns and she examined me, she said that everything felt normal and that in pregnancy the cervix gets very soft and sometimes you are able to put your finger in a little bit but not a whole finger. I went for my 12 week scan last week and they said that everything looked fine with my cervix. Am I worrying for no reason or shoud i be concerned?
For the wanker that said im lying you are thick! I went to my doctors and had it examined!! If you didnt like my question then dont fucking read it you twat! Im concerned about something and your answer is a load of shit!! Doctors do check womens cervix duhhhhh get an education
Stop stimulating your cervix! You've been examined, doc says all is well. As you had a D+C in the past you may find your cervix never completely shuts- women who've had a vaginal delivery (or at least had cervical dilation) find this too as it never returns to its state pre-dilation. Mine's the same.
The cervix is soft in pregnancy, it's caused by the hormones.
But leave it well alond now:
1. Germs from your fingers, even just washed, could casue infection (worst case scenario is it goes to baby)
2. Stimulation could release prostaglandins and oxytocin, both labour hormones.
So no reason to be concerned, and every reason to leave it alone!
